Device Physics: an Award and a Conference

For those working at the transistor and material levels, here are two little bits of news you should know about.

First, nominations are open for the biennial awarding of the International Union for Pure and Applied Physics’, (IUPAP),  Young Scientist Prize.  The awards are for outstanding contributions to semiconductor physics and its applications, made by early career scientists with, at the application deadline of March 31, 2014 , a maximum of 8 years of research experience (excluding career interruption) following the award of the PhD.  If you’d like more information, go to http://www.iupap.org, or see http://www.iupap.org/commissions/c8/file_62564.pdf.

Second, the International Conference on the Physics of Semiconductors, (also sponsored by IUPAP), will take place in Austin, TX this August 10 – 15.  For more information go to http://www.icps2014.org/.  The abstract submission deadline is February 28, 2014.
