Power Bits: May 28

Fuel cells are supposed to be all about low power, but apparently one fuel cell is not the same as the next. EnerFuel is developing a lower-power version of a fuel cell that can recharge the battery of an electric car while it sits in a parking lot. Interesting idea. If it works, it could make all-electric vehicles much more palatable.
Marvell is partnering with One Laptop Per Child to develop low-cost and low-power tablets instead of laptops. So much for all the naysayers of tablet computers. Just wait till the 4G version of the iPad arrives.
Intel has expanded its Core processor line ultrathin computers using 32nm process technology. The company says the new chips achieve 32% better performance in 32% less area with 15% power improvement. Sounds like power consumption got shortchanged by the marketing group.
TowerJazz is now offering ARM low-power libraries for 130nm SiGe BiCMOS and RF. Take note, because this could well be part of the 3D stacking revolution.
