When I was at TI, Avner Goren famously called them, &quot;The reds and the blues.&quot; (We were in an election year.) The people who design HW and code SW are very different.

And there was research from a firm (I think Evans Data Corp) detailing the differences between HW and SW engineers. Based on this research, I made a presentation pointing out these differences.

A quiz for all: Tell me whether each attribute applies most likely to a HW or SW engineer:
